The Race to the Final Bitcoin
top of page
As the original cryptocurrency, Bitcoin was created in 2008 by an anonymous person or group using the name Satoshi Nakamoto. This invention was released to the public as open-source software and serves as a decentralized digital currency in a very centralized world. There is no longer a need for intermediaries as the Bitcoin network provides a censorship resistant, permission-less, and peer-to-peer transactional system.
These transactions are verified by network nodes spread across the globe and recorded on a public ledger called the Blockchain. With a finite supply of 21 million, Bitcoin serves as a bank in cyberspace and continues to prove itself as the best savings technology in today's macro-environment.
